How to make your Classic Lash Sets Better

A classic set features the individual application of one lash extension to one natural lash. Many clients and even some lash artists tend to skip on classic sets because they are usually associated with being “boring” or “too simple”. BUT that’s not true at all! Well, classic sets are meant to look natural so you wouldn’t really expect too much drama with it but there’s just so much you can do with it to make it look simply gorgeous!

Did you know that there are ways for you to make them more customizable, fluffier and fuller? In this blog post, we’ll share you tips on how to transform your classic sets into something more exciting!

Think about what you’re using on your client

Don’t use the exact same weight, length, curl on each client because it depends on each individual. Your client may insist on going for a certain style but as a professional lash artist, you should also make sure that you’re honest with your client in terms of telling them which style suits them or not.

As for the classic set, there are different kinds of it – dense, fluffy, full.

The lash diameter can make a huge difference to your Classic Set

Classic sets usually use lashes in 0.10 to 0.30 diameter. We personally recommend 0.15 and 0.20 for completing classic sets. Some use 0.30 but we believe it’s not very ideal as it can be bad for the client’s natural lashes. For weaker, more fragile lashes, it’s much better to use a 0.15. As for normal lashes, 0.20 would do. Your classic sets can be very customizable just by working around different diameters. Heavier lashes don’t always mean that it’ll give your set a thick and fully voluminous look. It does the same with lighter lashes as this also doesn’t mean that it’ll give a natural look.

So even if your client chooses to go for a classic set, make sure to let them know that they have options depending on the look they want to achieve.

  • Dark and Dense Classic Set – use a 0.20 if your client likes a bolder look. This has bigger spaces in between the lashes compared to 0.15.
  • Fluffier and Fuller Classic Set – use a 0.15 if you want the set to look fluffier and more voluminous.

The difference between the two may not seem too obvious at first glance, but believe us, there’s a huge difference between these two different diameters. Check out our full video to see the complete demo here:
