Why Mapping Is Super Important When Lashing

There are many different eye shapes, sizes and preferences, and as we know eyelashes are not one size fits all, like would be soooo much easier if so!

One of the best things about eyelashes is the creativity of each set! The clients that’s give us free reign, our faaaaave!!!!!

      1. Lash Mapping

There are also many mapping styles, the more the lash industry is evolving, the more styles are becoming equally popular, used and shared. But what mapping styles are there, and where do we use them? The most popular are:

Cat Eye, Squirrel, Fox Eye, Doll Eye, Natural, Wipsy, Open Eye.

      2. Curls

It is also super important that the correct curls are used on certain eyelash types. The lash types are:

Straight, Curly, Downwards, Curved, Hooded Lids

You need to make sure you're using a suitable curl to match the natural eyelashes, otherwise you could have poor retention/poorly mapped sets.

      3. Eye Shapes

Once you know the difference, your sets will be next level! You can't use the same mapping on all eyes so you need to understand the different shapes and what suits! The most common eye shapes are:

Almond, Mondlid, Close Set, Wide Set, Downturning, Round, Protruding, Upturn.

      4. Lash Layering

If you lash in layers, this can really thicken up your sets. This is a technique that helps a lot of people, just ensure your tape isn't super super sticky and pulls off the extensions when taken off. It's great for beginners to experienced lash artists, but why do we do it?
