Determining Eye Shapes

Understanding how to map on each client can be super tricky if you’re unsure what eye shape they have, by following these simple steps you’ll be able to determine what shape their eyes are..

Do they have a crease in their eyelid?

Yes

No

They have MONOLID eyes.


Get them to look at you - can you see the white in their eye below the iris?

Yes

No

They have ALMOND eyes.


Get them to look at you - can you see the white in their eye below the iris?

Yes

They have ROUND eyes.


No

Is their eyelid crease visible when their eyes are open? 

Yes

No

They have HOODED eyes.


Draw a line across the center of their eyes, are the outer corners above the line?

Yes

They have UPTURNED eyes.


No

Draw a line across the center of their eyes, are the outer corners below the line?

Yes

They have DOWNTURNED eyes.


No

Do they have less than one eyeball’s width of distance between their eyes?

Yes

They have CLOSE SET eyes.


No

Do they have more than one eyeball’s width of distance between their eyes?

Yes

They have WIDE SET eyes.


No

Do they bulge slightly from the eye socket? causing the eyelids to project outward?

Yes

They have PROTRUDING eyes.


No

Do they have a prominent brow bone and their eyes seem to sit further back in the skull?

Yes

They have DEEPSET eyes.
